JSU on Facebook

Student Politics
JSU is the student council at The Faculty of Law, University of Oslo. Our purpose is to ensure that the voice of the students is heard, and we are thus represented in all governing bodies whose decisions may affect the students.

JSU is particulary taken up with with the state of the learning facilities and the quality of instruction. In addition, we are continuously scrutinising the content, form and assesment of exams.

International Students
All students at the faculty are welcome to contact us to make inquiries or suggestions. Within JSU there is a contact person that will respond to and follow up on all matters conserning international students.

The General Assembly
The General Assembly is held mid-term and is where JSU’s regulations are passed. This is the primary opportunity to influence the work of JSU. Also, at The General Assebly JSU will sum up their work progress and budget for the previous term. JSU’s nine members are elected from The General Assembly.

All students at the faculty who have payed the tuition fee have the right to join in on, make propositions for and vote at the assembly and also to run for JSU office.

JSU’s Front Desk

In addition to student politics, JSU is responsible for book lockers and enforcing the reading rooms regulations. Furthermore we sell auxiliary materials in Norwegian. This is all administered at JSU’s front desk situated on the ground floor in Domus Academica (see below). Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9.30 AM-2.30 PM. All sorts of enquiries can be made at the front desk.

Book lockers
All students at the faculty who have payed the tuition fee may hire up to three book lockers.

1. Find an unoccupied book locker. They are situated by or in all reading halls. In Domus Nova they are situated in separate book locker rooms.
2. Put a padlock on the locker and make sure it locks properly. Some of the lockers may be faulty.
3. Go to JSU’s front desk and pay the NOK 30 fee per locker.
